Position Summary

The School of Arts and Sciences at Holy Family University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated faculty member to join our Natural Sciences Department as a founding member and Program Director of our new Biotechnology program for the August of 2025. We welcome applicants with a background in biotechnology, molecular biology, pharmacology, or a related industry field. Familiarly with regulatory compliance in biotechnology and the ability to establish corporate partnerships (e.g., regulatory bodies, research institutions, biotechnology companies). The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, a passion for teaching, and the ability to engage students in active learning.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Faculty responsibilities include:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Biotechnology
  • Develop curriculum to reflect industry needs and emerging trends in the field.
  • Participate in departmental and university service.
  • Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career planning.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program that engages undergraduate students.
  • Contribute to the university’s mission through active participation in committees and university activities.

Program Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Develop lab protocols and manuals for biotechnology laboratory courses.
  • Prepare, coordinate and set up laboratory materials for biotechnology lab courses.
  • Establish partnerships with corporations, research institutions, and other relevant organizations to the field of biotechnology.
  • Represent Holy Family University and the Biotechnology program in the community.

Qualifications

  • D. in Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field is required.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
